Pure Eastern Oregon Pumice, 10 Pound Bag [intl. no]

We offer pure Eastern Oregon horticultural grade ground pumice.  Potting soil recipes right on the label.  Pumice makes a good mulch, disallowing weeds while promoting moist soil, serving as a barrier against damping off of seedlings.  Aerates and conditions clay soils.  Perfect mulch for xerophytes:  Cacti, Aloe, Pachycauls, Ephedras.  Even works well for Gotu Kola.  Often used in hydroponics.  Lightweight material for "green roof" applications.  Holds water and air--a premier soil conditioner that keeps breaking down into smaller particles and promotes healthy soil indefinitely. Pumice really is very useful in creating potting soil for houseplants, nursery plants, and especially Cacti and Succulents.  Access to this fine grade of pumice is almost a necessary prerequisite for starting Cacti from seed and for potting up succulents.  Use as a mulch around potted cacti and succulents, to promote a porous and dry surface, to keep your plants healthy!  Sprinkle pumice on top of your cacti and succulent seed plantings and the seedlings will emerge right up through the pumice and be supported by it.  You'll know you love it when you try it!

"An ideal naturally occurring organic ingredient for use in improving texture and drainage characteristics of potting soil and cactus mix."
