Annual.  90 days.  Standard pepper culture.  The plants exhibit much vigor from the very beginning, and quickly produce elongated fruits that ripen to red.  These are fine to eat fresh (they are sweet, not hot) but are even better if made into the classic spice paprika.  To do this, remove the seeds from the fruits and slice the flesh and dry in the sun or in a food dehydrator.  If you are sun drying, place the slices on screens and leave in the full sun, then cover at night to disallow them from taking on dew, then uncover again and sun bake.  It takes 3 to 4 days to produce the dried pepper strips.  Check the second picture posted here, of dried paprika pepper ready to grind.  Grind the dried peppers in a coffee grinder (the kind with the little whirring blades) and you will have ground paprika peppers.  These are a preferred condiment, used for making Czech paprika chicken, for thickening soups, for adding to chile beans, or to use for any recipe that calls for paprika as an ingredient.  If you go through this process, you will find that it is really worth it!  Our homegrown paprika always gets used up on toward spring, and we miss it (until we have a chance to grow another crop, that is!)  Highly productive.  50 Seeds/pkt., Certified Organically Grown
