Herbaceous perennial native to the prairie states. Multiple globular capitulas rise up on a yucca-like plant. Makes a decorative dried flower. The fresh root was pounded to a mash and used as a poultice by the native americans for treating snakebite and toothache. The plant prefers full sun to part shade and moist soils. Flowers green-white to 4 feet tall. These are a stately, friendly, and desirable addition to any herb garden, and the plant is unusual enough to elicit appreciation and thoughtful inquiry on the part of visiting schoolchildren, school teachers, and circling ravens, whichever comes first. 3 potted plants for a discounted price
