(Huichol Tobacco)  Annual. 60 days to flowers (very fast!).  I've come across this plant growing spontaneously and wild in dry arroyos in Arizona and New Mexico.  It always stops me in my tracks and evokes great respect.  I can see why it is considered such a potent totem among the native people.  Huichol is a powerful ceremonial and smoking tobacco, making small, resiny leaves on long petioles.
