(Stone Orpine)  Perennial evergreen succulent to 18 inches, native to Eastern Europe  and hardy to -10 degrees F. This is one of the core succulent species, thriving in the full sun in a well-drained soil in pots or in the rock garden or in the cracks of stone walls or around steps.  It is tough and very pretty. The plant is also very popular these days for "green" or "living" roofs, where the roof is planted with various grasses, succulents and herbs.

Annual.  55 days to maturity.  Round roots grow 3 to 4 inches in diameter, with a striking black skin and white flesh. Round Black Spanish is an antique radish that is much more nutrient dense than standard radishes.  It is generally grown as a fall radish and left out in the first few frosts in order to mellow its taste.
