The tincture calculator is a computer program that automatically figures the volumes of menstruum (water, alcohol, vinegar, etc) needed to make professional, high quality tinctures according to the formulas given in "Making Plant Medicine."  Once you load the software onto your computer, simply pick the herb, enter the herb weight, and the program will do the rest of the computations for you, telling you exactly what volumes of menstruum to use.  The program also figures projected yield and alcohol content of your tincture, a very handy feature for anybody that spends time crunching numbers to try to figure out valid labeling.

We offer this as a CD that we send you in the mail, instead of a web-downloadable program, because we think this is a very solid way to get you the program without the security issues and passwords that make downloading from the web such a hassle.  The CD works on both Macintosh and Windows operating systems.  Why is this software so inexpensive compared to what you can purchase from other sources?  Because we don't want you to have to pay more than $20.00 for it.

Over the years we've had many requests for a press large enough to extract a gallon of macerate in one run.  We worked hard to create a machine that would perform well for the serious extractor of herbal tinctures.  The press has the same excellent attributes as our 1/2 gallon press (Heavy and tough welded steel frame and base, 100% stainless steel contact surfaces consisting of stainless steel plunger, perforated pan and outer pan, durable 2-speed 6 ton jack, spring-loaded return, sanitary powdercoated finish) with the following improvements:
1) Larger capacity (holds one gallon of macerate)
2)  Powdercoated steel pressing block
3)  A handy hook for hanging the pressing pan during repacking or insertion of pressing block
4) Larger size and heavier construction to match (weighs 55 lbs)
